The Lodge at Russian River fulfilled the client’s long-term vision to add a boutique wine country escape to their hotel and resort portfolio. We helped them find the perfect site, we leveraged our network, brought partners to the table, and engaged in a visioning process that demonstrated feasibility of a stunning 4-star resort lodge. Our enticing vision, set on a unique site in the majestic Redwood Forest enabled us to attract the perfect hotel partner while the compelling proforma allowed our client to secure the investment required to realize his dream.

The Vision

Nestled among ancient Redwoods, The Lodge sits overlooking the tranquil Russian River. The 120-room resort captures the essence of Sonoma from the natural surroundings to the playful nature of the hotel. The dramatic glass and timber lobby vaunts a vast stone fireplace that beckons visitors to gather around its hearth. The reception, grand stair and outdoor deck take guests on a seamless journey across the stone floor of the lobby extending southwest and opening into the outdoor living space. The lobby is anchored on one end by meeting space and the other by a Michelin star restaurant. Meeting space with wrap around decks afford privacy and peekaboo views of the river through the trees. To the southwest, the bar sits adjacent to a contemporary farm to table restaurant with locally inspired menus. The infinity pool glinting below the restaurant deck tempts guests to experience its stunning views out along the river where they can feel at one with the beautiful natural setting.
